Class II Dental Restorations- Bonding | Dentsply Sirona

Creating a strong bond at the most
vulnerable interface is important. Although the strongest bond in the mouth
is to etched enamel, class II preparations extend into dentin and
overetching dentin is a leading cause of post-op sensitivity. Using a universal
adhesive after selectively etching only the available enamel allows a durable
enamel bond while minimizing the probability of sensitivity that can
result from overetching dentin.
