Does Sleep Apnea Affect Children?

Sleep apnea in children can create
things like ADHD, which it may go undiagnosed as ‘hey they need to be on
medication for ADHD’ and it may be that they have sleep apnea. Some of the other
things: bedwetting. A lot of kids who bed wet even after a certain age, when
they’re supposed to have been potty-trained – that also is an indicator
of sleep related issues, apnea, breathing through the mouth. Some of the other
things that we see: clenching and grinding of the teeth, doing poorly at
math or other things even if they’re not ADHD, black circles under the eyes. All
those things can indicate some form of apnea or sleep breathing disorder.
