How to Maintain Healthy Teeth : Pros & Cons of White Tooth Fillings

So, are you interested in knowing the pros
and cons of white fillings? Well, my name is Michelle, and I’m a dental assistant with
Solutionz, and I’m here to explain to you the pros and the cons. Basically, first to
start off with the pros of a white filling is it’s more aesthetic, aesthetically appeasing
to your teeth because it is the natural tooth color that you have in your mouth, so it’s,
you’re not going to be able to see a difference with it. It’ll just kind of basically flow
in as if it was looking like your natural tooth. Also too, it’s a lot better for you
than versus a silver filling, because with silver fillings it’s an, it’s an amalgam based
material, which is three different types of metals, and we have, over the years studies
have been performed to where they notice that silver will actually, the amalgam will actually
leak into your bloodstream if not taken care of properly. So, in in that aspect, you definitely
would want to choose a composite which is a white filling over an amalgam filling. And
the cons to a white filling are you tend to sometimes have a little bit more sensitivity
with them than you would with the amalgams; only because the com, the white filling is
a plastic based material, so sometimes temperatures; depending on how deep the filling is sometimes
the temperatures will kind of circulate in that area; like whether it’s hot or cold temperatures,
which in return you will start to get a little sensitive teeth, but usually that should subside
after about, you know seven to ten days after you’ve had your filling done. If it does persist
you would definitely need to see your general dentist, so therefore, he can kind of see
what’s going on below the surface. But once again, my name’s Michelle, and I’m a dental
assistant with Solutionz, and I just explained to you the pros and cons of a white filling.

  • damn lol now im kinda worried i got metal fillings in my teeth lol…

  • get them out.

  • @loafpork well most of them are out due to my teeth falling out. idiots putting fillings on my baby teeth. only got like 4 or 5 teeth with metal fillings. but i don't understand how they leak into the bloodstream if it is solid. but w/e. i don't wanna go thru all that crap taking them out. anyway i maintain healthy teeth so i doubt it will leak into my bloodstream.

  • No one needs to be worried. Composite is more toxic than Amalgam could ever be…….. šŸ™ I would never get this white shit into my teeth…….. šŸ™
