Surgical Tooth Removal

Surgical, or “open” extractions do require
a surgical incision, and/or dividing the tooth into pieces to remove it less traumatically. This tooth has a curved or “dilacerated” root,
which could make removing it in one piece more difficult. By dividing the tooth in pieces, the back
half can be withdrawn first, allowing for a rotational path of removal for the front
half. This spares the delicate bone between the
roots.
